Snazzy Squares!

Once you have mastered the art of knitting, you may prefer to knit straight garter(knit) stitch squares.
Or, you might want to use this opportunity to try something new out.
Maybe you would like to try out a new stitch, try knitting with two or more colours, or even knit a motive and stitch it to a square.

If you are an experienced knitter, or you have been learning the basics and want to try something a little bit different, you have come to the right place!

There are going to be literally hundreds (if not thousands) of squares that will be joined together to make our fabulous tree cozy project, so you want your square to be noticed , right?

Over the next 12 months we'll be adding to our IDEAS PAGE, where you can gain free access to many patterns and creative knitting techniques in order for you to learn as well as contribute to our wonderful community project.

Click on each link that is next to the knitted square you would like to have a go at and it will take you to a new website containing the patterns and techniques you need to make a square with a difference.

If you are stuck on any of the patterns, why not leave a comment and we'll get back to you with some handy tips!

Here are 4 taster squares to get you started.

Modular Rainbow: use one colour to perfect the technique, or many colours if you want to try something a bit different!
